i was sent yesterday to one of our recently completed projects to shoot some pictures for our upcoming website. the retreat (restaurant) looked real comfy and very conducive to dining while bedouinns bistro (bar) is a bit cramped. here are some of the pics, i hope y’all like them..

1st Holy Communion

My beautiful – 8 year old girl – Francesca Dominique (Cheska), received the Sacrament of Holy Communion or the Eucharist, last Thursday May 7th 2009 at St. Michael’s Church in Sharjah. After months and months of catechism, this marks her readiness to receive the Body and Blood of Christ. My husband and I were there to witness and share with her this special day where she would begin to accept Jesus Christ and join Him in His one sacrifice. His sacrifice of giving up His own body and blood for the salvation of mankind.

palma beach resort, uaq

me, cheska and sean had a blast last friday, thanks to my sister-in-law, she invited us to join them at the palma beach resort in umm al quwain. we arrived at around 11am there and hit the pool directly. it had been a while since we last used a swimming pool coz we live next to the beach and we didn’t feel the need to go use one. cheska and sean enjoyed soooooo much! i’m very happy to see their smiling faces!

last friday, i took my daughter (cheska) and son (sean) for a stroll by the beach. we all badly needed a breath of fresh air as we stay indoors the whole week! cheska – always in school, sean – always at home and me – always in the office. so we thought of going to a park but it seems that on fridays here in the UAE parks open at around 4pm so we had no other choice but go walking on the beach which is kind of hard for me because as soon as my kids see water, they won’t stop bugging me to let them swim. lucky for me there was a small playground right behind hardees so their attention were divided a little.

here are some of the pics i took while they were playing. the first pic was really dark when i took it, so i had to do some editing just to make it brighter.

about to wwweeee! it was sean’s first time to go on a slide by himself. we used to hold him before when he was still small. look at how excited he is!

30th

it’s the 30th day of march 2009 and the start of the 30th year of my life.

wow, 30 years!

as i start looking back, i have lived an exciting/melodramatic life. full of happy (as i don’t like dwelling on the sad ones!) memories. if i’m gonna live my life all over again, i’d choose to do it just the way it is. though – of course, there were moments that i wish didn’t happen, when i see my kids, it all fades away. they are my strength, they keep me going and they are like my drugs that keeps me addicted to my so-called life!

i miss my lolo olo (grandfather) so much. he was the one who took care of me when i’m still small with my lola nena. i have spent most of my life with them, spent my birthdays with them, but now that i’m living so very far and since my lolo passed away, all i can do is reminisce those blissful times.

as one grows old, we start to realize that our time is getting short, so we try to learn from our mistakes, swear to never make them again (or at least try not to) and move on. as i approach another year, i wish to be stronger amidst temptations, firmer in my decisions, better in my craft (photography), effective in my workplace, closer to GOD and contented in whatever HE will give me.

now on the lighter side, what do i want for my birthday? here’s a list..

i want..

1. to finally meet my dad!

2. to be a better mom, wife, friend, etc.

3. to have a mac powerbook

4. to have a nintendo wii

5. to be better in baking!

life goes on!

the pox…an update

it’s been almost 2 weeks now since my son got the pox..and finally he’s healing. it seems that it gets itchier by the day! i saw some really deep ones that i think he scratched just by his temples and i think those would really be marking. but he is still young and i hope it would all just go away (i’m praying really hard too!). so much for putting socks on his hands hehe…

just as predicted, i slept a minimum of 2/maximum of 4 hours for the last 2 days now. the blisters are spreading real fast on eisa’s body and he too can’t sleep much. he spends most of his nights rolling on the sheets and scratching! i had to watch him so he won’t scratch too much. we’re like playing zorro, everytime he raises his hand to scratch, i would immediately it push away. he would go crazy and cry but what could i do? i couldn’t just let him aggravate the already swollen blisters specially on his face. i’m just praying that it will be over soon. here are some of his pictures:

this morning we discovered that my little boy – eisa – got chicken pox and he’s only 2! so, as any mother would, i researched over the net as to what it is, how to treat it, what to do in case my child starts scratching and this is what i got -

Chickenpox is a common illness among kids, particularly those under age 12. An itchy rash of spots that look like blisters can appear all over the body and may be accompanied by flu-like symptoms (thank you! – kidshealth.org).

now, i know what to do and still i’m really worried that i won’t be able to stop my son from scratching since i remember when i got it my grandparents used to tell me that if i scratch, it’s going to mark me till the day i die! just imagining my baby with all those marks, hu hu hu! i’m thinking to tie him up when he is sleeping, hehe joke! now i think i’m just gonna stay up all night watching him

typically, it would take about a week for the symptoms to go but i wish it would be sooner for eisa so he can go back to his cute and overly active self.

much ado about blogging

everytime i surf the net, it’s blog here – blog there – blogs everywhere! people sharing what’s up with their lives, their thoughts and just about anything. i’m not really a fan as i’m kinda lazy in reading other people’s stuff (i’m not even reading my husband’s blog – sssshhhhh! he’ll kill me! hehe!). what won me over is the chance to express MY thoughts whether i’m feeling high or low or just to share everyday/special happenings in my life. and hey i’m a mother to three beautiful kids – cheska, pats, eisa – it’s about time that i start something that they would (i hope) likely read and remember when they grow up.

so i guess, everyone will be hearing more from me starting today and i hope like all the other blogs, mine will be interesting to you readers! happy blogging everyone!

p.s. i’m into photography also, so maybe i’ll post some of my work here… cyah!
